This system simulated a virtual batting cage.
Here's the batter, with a real bat, wearing a head-mounted-display. The batter sees an image like this in the head, showing the
pitcher and incoming pitch. The batter swings, and the image processor switches to track the bat. Now, a replay can be generated showing the result. The pitch data comes from a real field using a monocular 3-D vision
system! Better graphics can be generated for fancier, less real-time, systems. |
